Volunteer To Help Keep Our Beaches Clean!

Clean Ocean Action’s Fall Beach Sweep is October 24th, Registration Required

Join Clean Ocean Action, The Borough of Stone Harbor, SHPOA and the Wetlands Institute for a modified, safe, and socially-distant Fall Beach Sweep on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 from 9:00am to 12:30 pm.

This event will adhere to all state, municipal and CDC guidelines. All participants will be required to pre-register, which will allow COA to contact them directly to update them of any changes or cancellations, and to control the number of participants at each location. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver and agree to adhere to safety guidelines, which will include social distancing and required mask use when social distancing is not possible.

Volunteers can register for the event at CleanOceanAction.org or click here for pre-registration form:

The data collected at this Beach Sweeps will be critical for continuing COA’s extensive dataset of marine debris on the Jersey Shore, which is used to support policies and legislation that reduce pollution at the source, as highlighted in COA’s 2019 Beach Sweeps Report. Additionally, this data will document changes in the type and quantity of litter on beaches due to COVID-19.
