An Interview with Brittany Welch, of The Wildlife Gardener LLC and Beth Toolen, a past SHPOA Trustee and current member
This project, financed and coordinated by SHPOA, was also supported by the Stone Harbor Public Works Department and the Garden Club. The Native Garden supports our goal of enhancing Island sustainability by saving water and welcoming birds, bees and butterflies, as nature intended. We hope to encourage our residents (and landscapers!) to incorporate native plantings into their local gardens.

Watcher of the Skies – Bird watching in Stone Harbor
Susan Barrett and Melissa Lafferty discuss birding in Stone Harbor from our own Bird Sanctuary (114th Street and Second Avenue is one entrance).
SHPOA is the Stone Harbor Property Owners Association, As an organization, we work to keep our members informed of what’s going on in the town where all of us have invested our resources and memories. Our mission is to be “a bridge” to borough officials, that is, to advise and consult with them about issues of importance to our members, as many are not local voters.
