Work Session

Alerts
The Borough is considering changes to its alert system for floods and other emergencies. During Council’s June 15, 2021 work session, Emergency Management Coordinator Jonathan LaKose said the Borough is looking into new technology which should not replace the existing system. He argued in favor of keeping sirens and audible alerts because they let people know when something bad might happen. The alarm system was used twice this year during flooding events. A resident who lives in a highly flood-prone area said the alarm should have gone off more times.
